  • Detailed introduction

  Product Description:

Wood based powdery activated carbons developed and refined by Yuzhou Chemical Plant are produced with nut shells and sawdust. They are black, nonpoisonous and odorless fine powders with large specific surface area and high absorption capability. Wood based powdery activated carbons are applicable to water purification of sugar manufacturing, pharmaceutical, beverage and alcohol industry. Also, they are widely used in the decolorization, refinement and purification of organic solvents and sewage treatment.

Tips: How to identify the absorptive value of activated carbons without testing equipment? Several simple identification methods will be introduced here for your reference:

  1. Look up the indexes provided by the manufacturer

  2. Size: in general, activated carbons of high absorption performance are with more pore structures. And the more pore structures there are the crispier and lighter the carbons are. Therefore, good activated carbons are lighter, and for two kinds of activated carbons in the same packages, the size of the good one will be much larger than the other one.

  3. Bubbles: put a small handful of activated carbons into water. After the pore structures of activated carbons are soaking into water, air in the pores will be forced out, and at this time, lots of small bubbles will be generated accompanied with funny sounds. If this phenomenon lasts long and there are constant bubbles generated, it means the activated carbon has high absorption capability.

  4. Decolorization. Another factor that can indicate the absorption performance of activated carbons is decolorization. As activated carbons can absorb the pigment molecules in colored liquids, they can change colored liquids into lighter colored liquids or colorless liquids. For this reason, activated carbons are used to change brown sugars into white sugars in sugar manufacturing industry. Take out two transparent glasses and pour purified water in one of them, and then drip a drop of red ink (red ink can be replaced by other pigments that will not change water properties, for example, blue ink and color ink for printers. But prepared Chinese ink and carbonic ink cannot be used). Stir the water and then pour half of them into the other glass for later comparison. Put activated carbons into the two glasses, and for the purpose of clear comparison, the quantity of carbons put should be as half much as the water or more. 10-20min later, compare the two glasses. The activated carbons with better decolorization effect indicate better absorption performance.
